Friday Night Family Fest

Updated Information Regarding Friday Night Family Fest

Pekin Main Street's Friday Night Family Fest has been a popular Marigold Festival event for many years.  Recently, the Main Street organization announced they will discontinue the management of the event this year in order to re-focus their time towards their continuing mission of downtown revitalization and historic preservation.

The Marigold Festival committee thanks and acknowledges Main Street's contribution to the success of the festival.  The committee also believes Friday night is a popular time in the festival and the discontinuation of the Friday Night Family Fest creates an opportunity for another group or organization to form a suitable replacement.

From the Miss Marigold Queen Pageant to the Marigold Medallion Hunt, Pekin has a rich history of festival supporters stepping forward to either continue or transform a particular event that faced elimination.  Many of the festival's most popular events are in place today because of the community's desire to retain them or create something in its place.

Many Marigold Festival events are not planned by the Marigold Committee, but are often the brainchild of others.  The committee may provide input and suggestion to help formulate the final proposal.  If approved by the committee, they become part of the Marigold Festival and are promoted as such.

A 2016 Marigold Festival Event Application is posted online at  It is also available at the Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce at 402 Court Street.

A completed application is the first step to be included as an event in the Marigold Festival.  For more information download the application or contact Renna Hadsall at or 346-2106
